Nicholas Hytner’s critically acclaimed Guys & Dolls has been extended for a final time with tickets now on sale for performances at the Bridge Theatre up to 4 January 2025.
As the award-winning production enters its final run, Owain Arthur (The History Boys, Wyndham’s Theatre, One Man, Two Guvnors, Theatre Royal Haymarket) continues to star as commitment-phobic gambler Nathan Detroit alongside George Ioannides (On Your Feet!, Curve/London Coliseum/national tour, An Officer and a Gentleman, Curve/Leicester Square Theatre/national tour) as Sky Masterson, Timmika Ramsay (Moulin Rouge!, Piccadilly Theatre, Cinderella, Lyric Hammersmith) as Miss Adelaide, Celinde Schoenmaker (Les Misérables, Sondheim Theatre, The Phantom of the Opera, Her Majesty’s Theatre) as Sarah Brown and Jonathan Andrew Hume (Come From Away, Phoenix Theatre, The Lion King, Lyceum Theatre) as Nicely Nicely Johnson.
Also in the cast are Niall Buggy as Arvide Abernathy, Cornelius Clarke as Lieutenant Brannigan, Cameron Johnson as Big Jule, TJ Lloyd as Rusty Charlie, Ryan Pidgen as Benny Southstreet, Tori Scott as General Cartwright and Dashaun Vegas as Harry the Horse, plus Iroy Abesamis, Katie Bradley, Tanisha-Mae Brown, Filippo Coffano, Eamonn Cox, Kamilla Fernandes, Alex Given, Lucie Horsfall, Dominic Lamb, Siân Nathaniel-James, Saffi Needham, Sophie Pourret, James Revell, Nathan Rigg, Pierce Rogan and Samuel Routley, Charlotte Scott, Hollie Jane Stephens and Dale White.
The production which debuted at the Bridge Theatre in March 2023, features Olivier Award-winning choreography by Arlene Phillips with James Cousins, musical supervision and arrangements by Tom Brady, set design by Bunny Christie and costume design by Christie and Deborah Andrews, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Paul Arditti, orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, associate direction by James Cousins and Lily Dyble, casting by Charlotte Sutton, fight direction by Kate Waters and wigs, hair and make-up by Campbell Young Associates.
Guys & Dolls’ tally of awards began in November 2023 with Best Musical at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards followed by three awards at the 2024 WhatsOnStage Awards including Best Musical Revival, and the Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards for Best Musical (The Peter Hepple Award).
Inspired by the distinctive work of celebrated writer and newspaperman Damon Runyon, the much-loved Broadway musical features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows
Following the departure of Guys & Dolls, its London home will be transformed again to accommodate new, soon-to-be-announced productions in 2025.
