American Liam Forde will make his UK theatre debut in the Warwick Davis and Kevin Wood produced British musical Eugenius! which will follow up last year’s world premiere concert performance with a full-scale production at The Other Palace in 2018.

Forde will take on the central role of Eugene opposite one of the stars of the current Other Palace hit Big Fish The Musical, Laura Baldwin (UK tours of Shrek and Betty Blue Eyes) as love interest Janey.

The cast will also include: Daniel Buckley (Book of Mormon, Loserville); Ian Hughes (Guys and Dolls, The Lion King); Scott Paige (The Addams Family, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang); Cameron Blakely (Les Misérables, The Addams Family); Shaun Dalton (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast); Melissa James (The Bodyguard UK tour); Alexander Evans (UK tour of The Sound of Music, Carousel); and Alison Arnopp (Dusty, The Tempest). They will be joined by Brian Gilligan, Jacob Fisher, Alex Tranter, Luke Dowling, Rosie Heath, Chloe Chambers and Frances Dee.

Written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins, the show which debuted at the London Palladium last year, will play The Other Palace from 22 January until 3 March 2018.

Commenting on the Other Palace run, Harry Potter and Star Wars favourite Davis said: “I’m a huge fan of musical theatre and Eugenius! will be unlike any musical I have seen before. I was so hooked by Ben Adams’ brilliant, original songs and Chris Wilkins’ wonderfully witty story that I simply had to be involved as a producer. We are thrilled to announce the talented cast and can’t wait to get started in rehearsals to bring the show to life as a fully staged production. We have all the ingredients for Eugenius! to be something truly spectacular and I look forward to sharing it with audiences when it opens at The Other Palace in January.”

Set in the 1980s, the full-scale production of the show which merges an earthbound love story with a comic book superhero fantasy will once again feature the voice of Brian Blessed as ‘Prince Vultan’.

The director of the concert performance, award-winning Ian Talbot, will once again take the reins for The Other Palace production. Also returning to the show will be choreographer Aaron Renfree, sound designer Gareth Owen and lighting designer Andrew Ellis.

The creative team will also include musical supervisor Stuart Morley, with musical direction by Darren Lord, and set and costume design by Hannah Wolfe. The show’s distinctive design features specially commissioned comic book artwork by Marvel artist Simon Williams (Transformers, SpiderMan).
