Hailed as the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls is performed at the Royal Albert Hall this weekend with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and an all-star cast in a semi-staged concert directed by Stephen Mear (Gypsy, Singin’ in the Rain) and narrated by Stephen Mangan. And you are in for a treat because Musical Theatre Review’s official photographer Roy Tan has taken this fabulous array of exclusive images from the production.
In the cast are Sky Masterson (Adrian Lester), Miss Adelaide (Meow Meow), Nathan Detroit (Jason Manford), Sarah Brown (Lara Pulver), Benny Southstreet (Joe Stilgoe) and Nicely-Nicely Johnson (Clive Rowe). Also featured are Paul Nicholas and Sharon D Clarke.
Directed and choreographed by Mear, the creative team also includes musical director James McKeon and designer
Morgan Large.
Guys and Dolls is based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon and has music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.
