WhatsOnStage Award nominee Gerardine Sacdalan will take on the role of Veronica Sawyer in the upcoming London and subsequent UK and Ireland tour of the record-breaking show Heathers The Musical.
Nominated for the award for Best Professional Debut for her performance as Juliet in the UK tour of & Juliet, Sacdalan will star alongside Louis Hearsey (I Was a Teenage She-Devil) as Jason ‘J.D’ Dean, Liberty Stottor (Six the Musical) as Heather Chandler, with Jessica Ibadin, making her professional debut as Heather Duke and Lou Henry (Six the Musical) as Heather McNamara.
The cast will include Veronica Carabai (Black Power Desk) as Ms. Fleming/Veronica’s Mom, Sophie Manners (professional debut) as Martha Dunnstock, Markus Södergren (Here and Now – The Steps Musical) as Kurt Kelly, Beau Jackson (professional debut) as Ram Sweeney, John Gurdían (West End debut) as Ram’s Dad/Big Bud Dean/Coach Ripper, Reuben Browne (School of Rock) as Kurt’s Dad/Veronica’s Dad/Principal Gowan, with Christian De–Gallerie (Midnight) as Preppy Stud/Officer, Ellouise Delooze (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical) as New Wave Party Girl, Caitlin Garcia (West End debut) as Drama Club Drama Queen, Alexander Howarth (West End debut) as Hipster Dork, Charlotte O’Rourke (Cruel Intentions The Musical) as Midwestern Surfer Punk, Thomas Oxley (Bonnie & Clyde) as Beleaguered Geek, Tola Sokoya (professional debut) as Young Republicanette and Carys Taylor (professional debut) as Stoner Chick.
As previously announced the production will be the opening show at the Arts at Marble Arch – the 594-seat semi-permanent theatre which will be the Arts Theatre’s temporary home while its current building is renovated. Westerberg High will reopen its doors at London’s newest theatre next to one of the capital’s most iconic landmarks for 52 performances from 9 July to 22 August.
After its summer in the capital, audiences across the UK and Ireland will be able to join the Heathers as they head off on their autumn 2026 and spring 2027 tour.
The tour will launch at Windsor’s Theatre Royal on 26 August 2026 before travelling to Leeds, Nottingham, Coventry, Darlington, Poole, Leicester, Peterborough, Sheffield, Blackpool, Cheltenham, Dublin and Oxford in 2026.
Class will resume in spring 2027 in Hull, Liverpool, York, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Chelmsford and Torquay, with further dates to be announced.
A record-breaker at London’s The Other Palace within days of tickets first going on sale, Heathers The Musical was the first show from The Other Palace to move from a studio workshop to a main house production before becoming the first production from the venue to celebrate a West End transfer in 2018. The production continued its record-breaking ways at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2018 and went on to win the WhatsOnStage award for Best New Musical 2019.
The production has three hit West End runs and three record-breaking UK and Ireland tours under its belt.
A re-working of the cult classic 1980s film Heathers which starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers The Musical features music, lyrics and book by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy.
Based on Daniel Waters’ original screenplay for Michael Lehmann’s dark tale of murderous teenage angst, Heathers The Musical was initially presented at The Other Palace in workshop form in 2017 as the venue’s first work in progress production.
The musical arrived in the UK following successful runs in the US in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and in Sydney Australia. Featuring new material exclusively written for the London production by Murphy and O’Keefe, the production is directed by the show’s original Off-Broadway director Andy Fickman.
Produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd and Paul Taylor-Mills, the musical has choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson and musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy.
A replica production is currently touring Australia and New Zealand while the New York production is playing New World Stages in New York where the musical attracted the largest advance booking in the venue’s history ahead of its opening in June 2025, and is now booking up to 6 September. Heathers The Musical will also embark on a year-long tour across North America beginning spring 2027.
