Casting has been confirmed for the upcoming London season of the hit world premiere production of I’m Every Woman – The Chaka Khan Musical at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.
Presented by Adrian Grant in association with Chaka Khan, the musical celebration of the 10-time Grammy Award-winner’s life and times will return to London from 22 July to 27 September with former X Factor champion turned musical theatre star Alexandra Burke reprising her performance as the superstar singer.

BOOM, Beijing) as Hassan Khan, Sophie Earl (Dear Santa, UK tour) as Joni Mitchell, Samuel Sarpong-Broni (Hamilton, West End) as Stevie Wonder, Teddy Wills (Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical, West End) as Fred Hampton, Chris Breistein (An Officer and a Gentleman, UK tour) as Steve Winwood, Maryla Abraham (Coming to England, UK tour) as Sandra Stevens, Daniela Morain (professional debut) as Tammy Michelle and Grant Zavitkovsky (Rock ’n’ Roll Man, UK your) as Bob Monaco.
They will be joined by Connor Wilkins (Virgin Voyages), Gregory Armand (Mandela, Young Vic), Zinzile Tshuma (Bring It On, UK tour), Oskarina O’Sullivan (Thriller Live, West End), Ryan Hughes (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, UK tour), Kazmin Borrer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie , UK tour), Ryan Webb (Beetlejuice, Norwegian Cruises), Nimi Spiff ( The Wizard of Oz, Theatre By The Lake), Amara Campbell (The Greatest Showman – The Musical, Bristol), Lara Beth-Sas (Dear Evan Hansen, UK tour) and Nay-Nay (Kinky Boots, West End).
Directed by Racky Plews, the musical debuted at London’s Hackney Empire in March, before playing the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry and the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne.
Featuring a book by Nia T Hill, the musical showcases Chaka Khan-voiced hits as a solo artist and as the lead singer of Rufus, including ‘I Feel For You’, ‘Tell Me Something Good’, ‘Ain’t Nobody’, ‘Sweet Thing’, ‘Higher Love’ and ‘Through the Fire’.
Musical supervision is by Mark Crossland, with choreography by Ebony Clarke, set design by Sara Perks, sound design by Chris Whybrow, costume design by Natalie Pryce, hair and make-up design by JJ Wigs, casting by Debbie O’Brien, associate direction by Oliver Lidert, production management by Toby P Darvill and general management by Emily Obasohan.
Commenting on the musical inspired by her life, Khan said: “This musical is more than my story. It’s every woman’s story. It’s about finding your voice, owning your truth, and rising through everything life throws at you. I’m honoured to see my journey brought to the stage with such heart, strength and authenticity.”
