Jodie Steele and Annabel Giles join cast of Rehab The Musical

West End star Jodie Steele (Six The Musical, Heathers) and TV presenter Annabel Giles have been added to the cast of Rehab The Musical, ahead of the new British show’s debut at The Playground Theatre next month.

The pair will join the previously announced Keith Allen (Celebration, Almeida Theatre, Trainspotting), Jonny Labey (Strictly Ballroom, Piccadilly Theatre, EastEnders), Gloria Onitiri (Cinderella, Gillian Lynne Theatre, The Bodyguard, Adelphi Theatre) and John Barr (Les Miserables, Queens Theatre, Batboy The Musical, Shaftesbury Theatre) in the production which will play the London venue from 1-17 September. Andy Brady, Dawn Buckland, Marion Campbell, Andrew Patrick-Walker and Phil Sealey complete the cast.

Featuring music and lyrics by songwriter Grant Black and poet Murray Lachlan Young, and a book by Olivier nominee Elliot Davis (Loserville), Rehab The Musical was inspired by the personal experiences of its creators. Set in 1999, the musical follows the fortunes of pop star Kid Pop, who chooses rehab over jail after being charged with drug offences.

Presented by Blacklist Entertainment, the production will be directed and choreographed by multi-award-winner Gary Lloyd. The creative team also includes musical supervisor and arranger Simon Lee, set and lighting designer Andrew Exeter, sound designer Chris Whybrow, casting director Debbie O’Brien, producer Clive Black, co-producer Don Black, associate producer Jane Savidge and assistant producer Jayne Meegan. The general manager is Smart Entertainment.
