Stage and screen star Julian Clary will be going back to his cabaret roots by joining Proud Embankment’s popular Cabaret All Stars shows this summer.

Appearing alongside an international line-up of cabaret, drag, burlesque, and acrobatic acts, the Palladium panto favourite whose glittering career began on the cabaret circuit in the 1980s when he performed at venues across the country as The Joan Collins Fan Club, will take on compere duties as well as taking to the stage to perform a mix of new and fan favourite material.

Commenting on his involvement in the shows, Clary said: “I am thrilled to be taking to the most glamorous cabaret stage in London for some summer fun and frolics. It has been a while punters and I’m champing at the bit! Cabaret All Stars is the most spectacular show and I shall do my very best to lower the tone.”

Clary will follow in the footsteps of West End favourites including Kerry Ellis and Denise Van Outen when he takes on hosting duties for the cabaret and dinner shows within a striking heritage building underneath Waterloo Bridge on the North Bank of the River Thames.

The spectacular shows feature acts including aerialist and acrobat Katherine Karpovish from Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas show Beatles LOVE, award-winning international cabaret star Pi the Mime, Moulin Rouge cabaret and couture act J’Adore La Vie and Brazilian burlesque performer Marie Devilreux.

In order to safely welcome back audiences last year, Proud Embankment underwent a complete makeover to ensure maximum social distancing. With a modern, glass surround on the upper level at Embankment customers can enjoy clear sightlines while remaining apart from other groups.

Commenting on the measures already in place, Proud CEO, gallery, club owner and entrepreneur Alex Proud said: “We have the highest standard of filtration systems, exceptional cleanliness and hygiene measures and have put in place industry standard measures adhering to social distancing guidelines across all our venues to ensure customer safety.

“At Proud we take our customers’ safety as seriously as we take our entertainment. And we take our entertainment very seriously indeed. We are the best in the world at what we do. Trust us to get this right.”
