Kerry Ellis and Earl Carpenter line up for new open-air festival The Wight Proms

West End and Broadway leading lady Kerry Ellis will be one of the headline acts taking to the stage during the Isle of Wight’s new annual open-air festival The Wight Proms in August.

The popular star of shows as varied as Murder Ballad, Wicked and We Will Rock You will join fellow West End and Broadway star Earl Carpenter (Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables) for a special outdoor picnic concert in the spectacular setting of Northwood House, Cowes on Saturday 18 August.

Hosted by award-winning actress Anna Chancellor (Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Crown), Wight at the Musicals will feature Ellis, Carpenter and a number of West End favourites (details to be confirmed) performing some of the best known and best loved songs form the musical theatre world.

Wight at the Musicals will be the first of two concerts at the four-day event catering for both lovers of classical music and musical theatre. The concert performances will be at the heart of the four-day festival which runs from 16-19 August 2018 in the grounds of the Grade II listed Georgian manor house, Northwood House.

The second concert, Last Wight of the Proms on Sunday 19 August will feature Classical Brit Award-winning vocal group Blake, soprano Mary-Jess and the 50-piece Isle of Wight Promenade Orchestra.
