Kerry Ellis joins the cast of Sunday at the Musicals

Kerry Ellis will be performing in Sunday at the Musicals at St. Paul’s Church (The Actors Church) in Covent Garden on 26 November.

Ellis is recognised as a leading lady of West End and Broadway musicals, with a number of starring roles in London, New York and around the world. She achieved chart-topping success as a recording artist signed to Universal Decca with her debut album Anthems.

The actress and singer originated the role of Meat in Queen’s We Will Rock You and was the first British Elphaba in Wicked. She then headed to Broadway to play the same part for six months, before returning to London in the role.

Her other leading credits include Alice in Wonderland, Sara in Murder Ballad, Grizabella in Cats, Nancy in Oliver!, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Ellen in Miss Saigon and Fantine in Les Misérables.

Ellis continued her long-term working relationship with Queen guitarist Brian May with a tour of Europe in the summer of 2016, followed by the recent release of their new album Golden Days.

Produced by Paul Burton and Paul Burton Productions, Sunday at the Musicals is hosted by Rosemarie Ford and features a glittering line-up of West End performers, including Brian Conley, along with crossover-sopranos Classical Reflection and 70 members of the London Show Choir led by Pippa Gearing and Lizzie Deane.

With Matt Pallant on piano, the show – featuring songs from past and present musicals – will raise funds for Marie Curie UK.

Directed by Charlotte Peters, the concert follows similar events produced by Burton which have also raised money for the charity.

Ford will host a line-up that includes: Emily Clare, Susan Colclough, Amanda Coutts, Aimée Fisher, Michelle Francis, Gabriela Garcia, Jenny Gayner, Catherine Hannay, Aimée Hodnett, Claudia Kariuki, Alex Lodge, Carolyn Maitland, Natalie Moore-Williams, Sarah O’Connor, Louise Olley, Alfie Parker, Laura Pick, Caroline Rodgers, Jordan Shaw, Elena Skye, Pippa Winslow and Alex Young.

All performers will appear subject to availability.
