Triple Olivier Award winner Kinky Boots has extended its West End run to at least Saturday 6 May 2017. Just a day after the production celebrated its first birthday in the West End, tickets went on sale for the new extended booking period at London’s Adelphi Theatre.
The exuberant show recently celebrated adding three Oliviers (Best New Musical, Best Costume Design and Best Actor in a Musical for Matt Henry) to an impressive haul that also includes the London Evening Standard BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical.
With a book by Harvey Fierstein (La Cage Aux Folles), and songs by Cyndi Lauper, the production is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
Original star Henry remains in his showstopping role as Lola alongside recent new cast members including David Hunter (Once) as Charlie, Elena Skye (making her professional West End debut as Lauren), Alan Mehdizadeh (Billy Elliot the Musical) as Don and Cordelia Farnworth (Sunset Boulevard) as Nicola.
New cast members also include James Ballanger, Jemal Felix, George Grayson, Melissa Jacques, Charlotte Jeffery, Suzie McAdam, Jane Milligan, Robin Mills, Jon Reynolds, Ben Sell, Craig Thomas and Jason Winter.
They joined previous cast members Michael Hobbs, Paul Ayres, Emma Crossley, Robert Grose, Chloe Hart, Robert Jones, Adam Lake, Catherine Millsom, Sean Needham, Dominic Tribuzio, Alan Vicary and Michael Vinsen.
