Lee Mead begins his ten-date Some Enchanted Evening tour in July

Singer and actor Lee Mead (Joseph, Wicked, Legally Blonde, BBC1’s Casualty) has announced his return to the live arena this year with Some Enchanted Evening, a ten-date concert tour which kicks off in July and concludes in December with a special Christmas themed show at London’s Garrick Theatre.

On this, his fourth UK live outing, Mead will turn back the musical clock to the golden age of Hollywood and celebrate some of the classic songs that that have become a part of our musical heritage. He will be accompanied on stage by his band with new arrangements from MD Mason Neely,  special guest Amanda Henderson (Oliver!, Les Misérables) who stars alongside Mead in Casualty.

Amongst the set list for the show will be ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, ‘Where Or When’, ‘I Fall In Love Too Easily’, ‘I’ll See You In My Dreams’, ‘One For My Baby’, ‘Broadway Melody’ and ‘The Way You Look Tonight’.

Mead shot to fame in 2007 when he won TV’s Any Dream Will Do and was cast in the lead role of the 2007 revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. After 600 performances, he went to New York where he studied acting at the Lee Strasburg Institute before heading back to London’s West End for starring roles in Wicked and Legally Blonde. Mead also appeared in West End Men which played at London’s Vaudeville Theatre and toured around the UK and overseas.

The actor made his debut in BBC1’s Casualty in March 2014 playing the popular character Lofty Chiltern and was shortlisted in the 2015 National Television Awards as Favourite Newcomer.

As a further acknowledgement of the songs from the era of Hollywood musicals, Mead is currently recording a new studio album to be released in spring 2016.
