Line-up for second Monday Night at the Apollo show

Casting has been announced for the second concert in the rescheduled live and live-streamed fundraising series of Monday Night at the Apollo.

West End stars Shan Ako (Les Miserables, The X Factor), Arthur Darvill (Once, Sweet Charity), Sophie Evans (Wicked, Wizard of Oz), Sandra Marvin (Waitress, Emmerdale) and Oliver Tompsett (& Juliet, Wicked) will take to the stage for an evening of music and theatrical chat on 14 June 2021.

Hosted by Greg Barnett (Miss Littlewood, Duchess of Malfi), the Monday Night at the Apollo series has been created to support the theatre industry with a percentage of the proceeds from each of the three shows to be donated to leading theatrical charity Acting For Others.

Tickets are now on sale for all three dates with details of the line-up for the third show to be announced soon. All the shows are live-streamed to home viewers via the theatre discovery platform Thespie. The producers will continue to review the details of each show as the performance date approaches and react according to any changes in Government guidelines.

Announcing the cast for the second show producers Greg Barnett and High Summers said: “We’re excited to be announcing the second of our all-star line-ups for Monday Night At The Apollo. We have five of British theatre’s best performers joining us for this night to celebrate the reopening of our wonderful industry and we simply cannot wait for them to be out on stage, sharing their talent, in front of a live audience.

“We are thrilled that all three performances will also still be live-streamed to viewers at home via Thespie.com. The industry faces huge challenges in its recovery and we still hope to be able to raise funds for the charity Acting For Others to support the thousands of freelancers who continue to be hit hardest as our sector begins to slowly reawaken.

“Theatre and its audiences know how vital it will be to support each other on the road to recovery and in these seemingly crucial final months, we ask your support, kindness, and most of all your theatrical presence, as we embark on our journey back to the stage. Public health and the safety of our audiences are still our utmost priority and the performances will adhere to the current government guidelines.”

Produced by Barnett and Summers for the recently launched Wild Mountain Productions Ltd, the musical directors for the series are Richard Beadle and George Dyer.

Monday Night at the Apollo is part of Nimax’s Rising Stars Festival which is showcasing the work of 23 producers all making their West End producing debuts.
