West End star Linzi Hateley will play the central role of Mrs Johnstone when Bill Kenwright’s acclaimed production of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers begins the autumn leg of its 2018 tour next month.
Recently seen as Donna in Mamma Mia!, Hateley (Carrie: The Musical, Chicago) will take centre stage as the mother forced to give up one of her twin sons when the touring production arrives at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley from 4-8 September 2018.
The cast also includes Sarah Jane Buckley, Sean Jones, Mark Hutchinson, Robbie Scotcher, Danielle Corlass, Tim Churchill, Graham Martin, Amy Jane Ollies, Alison Crawford, Graeme Kinniburgh, Andy Owens and Josh Capper.
After playing to packed houses and receiving standing ovations across the UK since its launch in January this year, the tour will visit St Helens, Preston, Swansea, Bridlington, Crawley, Stoke, Wimbledon, New Brighton, Chesterfield, Hamilton and Oxford.
Presented by Bill Kenwright who also directs alongside Bob Tomson, the production is designed by Andy Walmsley with sound design by Dan Samson; musical direction by Tim Whiting; and lighting design by Nick Richings.
Hailed as one of the best musicals of all time, Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers has triumphed across the globe. Scooping up no less than four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway, Blood Brothers played in London’s West End for 24 years. The show exceeded 10,000 performances – one of only three musicals ever to achieve that milestone.
