Alexander S. Bermange’s musical revue I Wish My Life Were Like A Musical will make a return visit to Live At Zédel this summer just a few months after its critically-acclaimed world premiere.
Announced as part of the summer season line-up at London entertainment hub, the latest work from musical comedy composer Bermange will return for two weeks in August featuring an as yet unconfirmed all-star West End cast.
Produced, once again, in partnership with Fane Productions Ltd, Live At Zédel’s packed summer programme of live music, musical theatre, comedy and cabaret will also feature Girls Aloud singer turned stage star Kimberly Walsh (Shrek) who will make her debut at the venue with a show designed for the intimacy of the Crazy Coqs stage.
The musical theatre-flavoured programme also includes Kerry Ellis who will take up a three-week residency in September to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her London stage debut.
The legendary Burt Bacharach’s 90th birthday will be marked by Lauren Samuels who will be joined by Classical Brit Award nominee Laura Wright and singer-songwriter AJ Brown in A Celebration of the Life and Works of Burt Bacharach.
Award winner Matt Henry (Kinky Boots) will make his solo debut performing songs from the musicals alongside his own material while Emma Kingston (Evita) will return for a brand new solo concert following her sold out debut in April.
Other musical theatre guests include Rachel Tucker (Wicked) who returns after her sell-out appearance in 2017 and Olivier Award winner Rebecca Trehearn (Show Boat) with Tim Connor and Lia Buddle’s song cycle Heart of Winter. Also appearing are Trevor Dion Nicholas (Aladdin), Ryan Molloy (Jersey Boys), Lorna Dallas (Show Boat), Summer Strallen (Love Never Dies), Celinda Shoenmaker (Phantom of the Opera) and Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary (The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole).
Commenting on the eclectic line-up the venue’s artistic director James Albrecht said: “This season we present our most comprehensive range of musical theatre talent to date as well as some excellent cabaret, musical and theatre shows. I urge you to have a look as there truly is something to entice everyone. We look forward to welcoming you soon.”
Cabaret act La Voix will return with her popular conversation-style show with TV and radio personality Vanessa Feltz while Rick Skye is Liza Live! features one of the world’s most successful Liza Minnelli interpreters.
Other highlights at the venue which utilises the distinctively different Brasserie Zédel and Crazy Coqs spaces within the Zédel building in the heart of Soho, include Crazy Coqs Presents, a series of shows presented by lyricist Mark Petty. With musical direction by William Sharma, the themed shows include: Classic Songs from the Musicals, Pride at the Musicals and The Disney Show.
