The final performance in the Theatre Support Fund’s sold-out concert series The Show Must Go On! Live At The Palace Theatre will be streamed as a live broadcast on 6 June 2021 at 7pm.
Filmed by National Theatre Live, the concert which offers a taste of some of the world’s best-loved musicals will be available to view free of charge via The Shows Must Go On! YouTube channel live and will also be available for the following seven days.
Announcing the live broadcast, the driving forces behind the successful lockdown-launched Theatre Support Fund + Chris Marcus and Damien Staunton said: “We wanted to give audiences who missed out on tickets and theatre fans worldwide the opportunity to watch and be a part of this celebration of the West End, in this once in a lifetime concert!
“It’s been 15 months since many of these shows have performed and this is a great way to kick off the reopening of the West End, with performances from so many fantastic names in our industry.
“Our ‘The Show Must Go On!’ campaign has been supported by people from 72 countries so we are delighted to be working with ‘The Shows Must Go On’ YouTube channel and NT Live on bringing this broadcast to people’s homes all over the world and want to thank them for everything they have done to make this all possible.”
Hosted by Bonnie Langford (9 to 5 The Musical, 42nd Street) and Trevor Dion Nicholas (Aladdin, Hamilton), the series’ line-up of featured performers includes: Aisha Jawando (Tina – The Tina Turner Musical); Sharan Phull (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie); Collette Guitart and Hana Stewart (Six); Dion Nicholas (Hamilton); Dom Simpson and Tom Xander (The Book of Mormon); Laura Pick in a performance from (Wicked); Tilly-Raye Bayer, Imogen Cole, Alyssa D’Souza, Alex Munden and Carly Thoms (Matilda The Musical); Jordan Luke Gage (& Juliet); John Owen-Jones (Les Misérables); Kayi Ushe and Janique Charles (Disney’s The Lion King); Christine Allado and Alexia Khadime (The Prince of Egypt); Alice Fearn (Come From Away); Lucy St Louis and Rhys Whitfield (The Phantom Of The Opera); Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins); Mazz Murray (Mamma Mia!); Olly Dobson (Back to the Future The Musical) and Aimie Atkinson (Pretty Woman The Musical). The series also features a choir of 16 which is made up of 2020 musical theatre graduates.
Featuring new opening number ‘The Show Must Go On’ written by Stiles and Drewe, the creative team for the series includes directors Luke Sheppard and Anna Fox, set designer Soutra Gilmour, lighting designer Howard Hudson, sound designer Adam Fisher, musical director Stuart Morley and video designers Fray Studio.

The live concerts run from 2-6 June with nightly performances at 7pm and matinee shows on 5 and 6 June.
All profits from the concerts will go to Acting For Others and The Fleabag Support Fund. Audiences watching the broadcast can donate to the Theatre Support Fund + via the website or text THEATRE followed by the amount pledged to 70460.
Launched by friends and theatre industry workers Marcus and Staunton to raise funds for those hardest hit by the Covid-closedown, the Theatre Support Fund + won the backing of the producers of 16 of the biggest musicals in the West End to create a design that uses each production’s distinctive branding. The initiative has raised over £900,000 for the two theatrical charities along with the NHS Covid-19 Urgent Appeal to date.
