Liza Pulman to tour Streisand inspired show

Fascinating Aida’s Liza Pulman will take her third solo show Liza Pulman Sings Streisand on tour next month.

Beginning at The Exchange in Sturminster on 6 October, the popular singer and comedienne will celebrate the songs of Barbra Streisand in the show which features Pulman and her six-piece band The Stardust Ensemble.

The tour, including a performance at London’s Cadogan Hall (18 October) and concluding at Wilton’s Music Hall in London on 23 November, follows the release of the double A-side single ‘You Don’t Bring Me Flowers’/‘The Way We Were’.

Recorded in her mother’s hometown in Yorkshire, the songs feature the distinctive sound of The Brighouse & Rastrick Band in unique versions of the classic songs reworked by Pulman and Joseph Atkins.

The touring show, which will visit Christchurch, Peterborough, Stratford-upon-Avon, Farnham, East Grinstead, Potters Bar and Malvern, features the songs alongside many other Streisand classics including ‘Evergreen’, ‘The Way We Were’ and ‘Second Hand Rose’.

Commenting on the inspiration behind her latest show, Pulman said: “Barbra Streisand is a legend, her talent across singing, directing and screenwriting, and her rhythm as a natural comedian have all inspired me both on and off stage. I absolutely love putting the show programmes together.

“I love creating new arrangements of songs that people know really well and also introducing the audience to songs they might not already know. Working with my band to bring together the best of Barbra Streisand’s songs has been a real treat and we can’t wait to share this with you!”
