London debut for new musical Stag Night

New British musical Stag Night will make its debut with a trio of special performances at the Canal Café Theatre in London’s Little Venice in December.

Written and directed by Musical Theatre Review contributor Ian Bowkett (The Sam Neill Experience, Sisyphus: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical), the post-apocalyptic musical will be staged in the dark with the audience invited to illuminate the performance with torches.

Inspired by the ancient hunting myths of Roman poet Ovid’s Metamorphoses, the musical uses an original rock score of 21 songs to accompany a tale of a four-sided love affair in an elite military camp.

Marking Bowkett’s return to the Canal Café Theatre for the first time since his Sisyphus: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical premiered at the venue in 2021, Stag Night will play evening performances from 2-5 December 2026.

The cast will be announced at a later date.
