Lucie Jones to star in first West End solo concert

Waitress’ Lucie Jones will use her time away from the hit show to star in her first West End solo concert in February 2020.

Accompanied by the 22-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra, Lucie Jones Live at the Adelphi will take the rising star back to the theatre where she is currently playing eight shows a week as Jenna in the London run of the award-winning Broadway musical.

Produced by Adam Blanshay Productions and sponsored by Alpha Club, the performance at the Adelphi Theatre on 16 February 2020 will be a celebration of the Welsh singer’s career to date.

After first finding fame as a finalist on The X Factor in 2009, Jones has steadily built a career as a musical theatre star with roles in the UK tours of Ghost, Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer, Les Misérables, and the 2oth anniversary production of Rent.

Jones stepped into the role of Jenna in Waitress in June 2019 following the departure of London’s original Jenna, Katharine McPhee. Jones, who also represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017, is due to take a break from Waitress from 25 January until 9 March 2020 while the show’s co-creator and one of Broadway’s ‘Jennas’, Sara Bareilles steps in to play the role for a limited season.
