Lyricist Mark Petty has released details of the Crazy Coqs Presents series of shows which will launch this month at Live At Zédel.
Announced earlier this year as part of the packed summer season line-up at London entertainment hub, the themed shows will be co-produced and hosted by Petty, the UK half of transatlantic songwriting partnership Anderson and Petty.
With musical direction by William Sharma, the series will begin on 10 June 2018 with Classic Songs from the Musicals which will feature performances from Tom Hier, Carolyn Maitland, David Shannon, Gemma Sutton and Rebecca Trehearn. Shows to be featured include The Wizard of Oz, Evita, South Pacific and West Side Story.
The second instalment on 7 July, Pride At The Musicals, will celebrate this year’s London Pride with songs from hit shows including La Cage Aux Folles, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Rent and Dear Evan Hansen. The star line-up features Andy Coxon, Richard Dempsey, Jane Milligan, Liam Tamne and Belinda Wollaston.
On 11 August The Disney Show will feature songs from the much-loved films and stage musicals performed by Natasha Barnes, Chloë Hart, Charlotte Jaconelli and two more to be confirmed. Classic songs from Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins and newer favourites including Toy Story 2 and Moana will be among those featured on the night.
The fourth concert on 16 September will be The New Musical Showcase which will put the spotlight on new music from composers including Anderson and Petty, Kansley and Lidert, Kate Marlais and Alex Young, Webborn and Finn and Oliver Boito.
