New date for Monica Bellucci’s West End debut in Maria Callas show

The date for Italian movie star Monica Bellucci’s West End stage debut in Maria Callas – Letters & Memoirs has been moved to 24 April 2022.

The model turned actress whose big screen credits include Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Mel Gibson’s The Passion of Christ and the Bond film Spectre will take to the stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre for one night only on 20 December.

First seen in Paris in 2019,  Maria Callas – Letters & Memoirs features Bellucci reading from the iconic soprano’s own writings tracing Callas’ life from her humble beginnings in New York through to her glittering career on the world stage.

Presented by Piu Entertainment, the production which is directed by Callas afficionado, Tom Volf (Maria by Callas), was created to celebrate the publication of the film director’s book Maria Callas – Letters & Memoirs based on over 350 unpublished letters spanning 1946-1977 along with Callas’ unfinished memoirs.
