Jeffrey Seller and Cameron Mackintosh have announced another extended booking period for the smash hit London version of the multi-award-winning Broadway hit Hamilton.
Tickets for performances until Saturday 30 March 2019 will go on sale via official Hamilton ticketing channels from Monday (4 June 2018) at 12 noon GMT.
Earmarked by Mackintosh as the perfect production to launch his multi-million-pound refurbishment of the Victoria Palace Theatre, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop flavoured show was one of 2017’s most eagerly anticipated West End premieres.
Opening just before Christmas on 21 December 2017 to predictably rave reviews, the production was previously booking until December this year.
Heavily tipped from its Broadway opening night as a leading awards winner, Hamilton banked the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album before adding a stunning 11 Tony awards including the award for Best Musical to its trophy cabinet. In April, the show added seven Olivier Awards to the collection.
Still playing to sell-out crowds on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre since August last year, Miranda’s tale of one of America’s founding fathers debuted Off-Broadway in February 2015 where it secured the piece’s first gong, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical.
The Broadway production of the show which has book, music and lyrics by Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton.
