A new booking period for the hit London version of the multi-award-winning Broadway musical Hamilton has been announced.
Tickets for performances from 30 July to 15 December will go on sale via official Hamilton ticketing channels from Monday (29 January) at 12 noon GMT.
The new booking period follows on from the news that the team behind the hit show will be auditioning new cast members with the offer of one-year contracts beginning in October.
Earmarked by Cameron Mackintosh as the perfect production to launch his multi-million-pound refurbishment of the Victoria Palace Theatre, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop flavoured show was one of 2017’s most eagerly anticipated West End premieres. Opening just before Christmas on 21 December 2017 to predictably rave reviews, the production was previously booking until July this year.
The current West End cast includes: Christine Allado (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), Rachelle Ann Go (Eliza Hamilton), Tarinn Callender (Hercules Mulligan/James Madison), Michael Jibson (King George), Rachel John (Angelica Schuyler), Jason Pennycooke (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Cleve September (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton), Giles Terera (Aaron Burr), Obioma Ugoala (George Washington) and Jamael Westman (Alexander Hamilton). At certain performances, the role of Alexander Hamilton will be played by Ash Hunter.
They are joined by Aaron Lee Lambert, Jade Albertsen, Curtis Angus, Johnny Bishop, Courtney-Mae Briggs, Jack Butterworth, Jon-Scott Clark, Kelly Downing, Leslie Garcia Bowman, Lia Given, Gregory Haney, Leah Hill, Barney Hudson, Waylon Jacobs, Miriam-Teak Lee, Phoebe Liberty, Sifiso Mazibuko, Gabriel Mokake, Alexzandra Sarmiento, Marsha Songcome, Christopher Tendai and Lindsey Tierney.
Heavily tipped from its Broadway opening night as a leading awards winner, Hamilton banked the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album before adding a stunning 11 Tony Awards including the award for Best Musical to its trophy cabinet.
Still playing to sell-out crowds on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre since August last year, Miranda’s tale of one of America’s founding fathers debuted Off-Broadway in February 2015 where it secured the piece’s first gong, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical.
The Broadway production of the show which has book, music and lyrics by Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton.
Hamilton is produced by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman, The Public Theater and Cameron Mackintosh.
