Harold Sanditen’s Open Mic Party has returned to the virtual stage on Zoom for the launch of its winter/spring season.
Following on from a successful move online in 2020, the popular cabaret show which is the longest-running show at London’s leading jazz and cabaret venue The Crazy Coqs, is celebrating its eighth year with fortnightly shows on Thursdays until 22 April 2021. The season will also include extra themed shows on Wednesday 10 February (Valentine’s Day), Wednesday 10 March (Disney) as well as a birthday celebration show on 21 April.
Sanditen hosts all shows and is joined by his regular musicians Michael Roulston on piano, Robert Rickenberg on bass and Jonathan ‘Kitch’ Kitching on drums.
While each show is live, guest contributions are recorded by each performer exclusively for the show to preserve the quality of transmission and ensure the smooth running of each show.
Zoom performances begin at 7pm GMT, 8/9pm Europe, 2pm ET, and 11am PT with streams starting 10 minutes later. Performances are free for those in financial difficulties with those who can afford to pay being asked to make a donation of at least £3.50 or $5 a show to go towards the costs of those involved.

Harold Sanditen’s Open Mic Party Live on Zoom launched in April 2020 with a special event marking the show’s seventh birthday. With shows fortnightly until 30 December, the series featured more than 260 singers and instrumentalists, ranging in age from 14 to 92, and joining from the UK, USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Colombia, Brazil and Australia.
Star performers included Penny Fuller, Barb Jungr, Ian Shaw, Jess Robinson, Jason Graae, Anita Gillette, Gary Williams, Tovah Feldshuh, Natalie Douglas, Lorna Dallas, Timothy Oliver Reid, Shelly Goldstein, Dillie Kean, Sharon McNight, Sally Mayes, Karen Mason, Mark Winkler, Gabrielle Stravelli, Jamie deRoy, John McDaniel, Tedd Firth, Sean Harkness and Dom Hartley-Harris.
