Next Thing You Know is the third musical at the Garden Theatre

Off-Broadway hit Next Thing You Know will be the third musical to play South London’s new outdoor venue The Garden Theatre in the beer garden of The Eagle in Kennington.

Running from 20-31 October 2020, the new version of the four character show by award-winning writers Ryan Cunningham and Joshua Salzman follows on from extended critic and audience-pleasing productions of Fanny and Stella and Pippin.

Directed by Robert McWhir, Next Thing You Know will star 2020 graduates Amelia Atherton (Performance Preparation Academy), Bessy Ewa (Arts Educational Schools), Callum Henderson (Guildford School of Acting) and Nathan Shaw (Performance Preparation Academy).

Presented by Peter Bull for LAMBCO Productions with Liam Gartland and Alice Croft for The Grad Fest, the creative team includes musical director Aaron Clingham, choreographer William Spencer, designer David Shields, with lighting by Richard Lambert and casting by Anne Vosser.

Featuring a book by Cunningham and music and lyrics by Salzman, Next Big Thing is the writers’ second musical following on from the Pride and Prejudice-inspired I Love You Because. Next Thing You Know was first presented as a song cycle at New York University. The show debuted Off-Broadway at CAP21 in 2011 and received its European premiere in Paris in 2015.
