Disney’s Aladdin will take flight on its first UK and Ireland tour this autumn, launching at the Edinburgh Playhouse from 24 October until 18 November 2023.
With further cities to be announced, the production will follow its Edinburgh run by playing a festive season at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff (7 December 2023 until 14 January 2023). Confirmed venues for 2024 include Theatre Royal Plymouth (17 January to 11 February), Sunderland Empire (15 February to 10 March) and Milton Keynes Theatre (24 April to 19 May). Casting will be announced soon.
Based on the 1992 animated film, the lavish stage musical production features songs from the movie along with new music written by Tony, Olivier and eight-time Academy award winner Alan Menken. The show also features lyrics from multi-award-winners Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and six-time Tony award nominee Chad Beguelin who also provides the book. Aladdin is directed and choreographed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Casey Nicholaw.
Aladdin is designed by Olivier and seven-time Tony award-winning scenic designer Bob Crowley, seven-time Tony winning lighting designer Natasha Katz, double Tony Award winner, costume designer Gregg Barnes and sound designer Ken Travis. The production team also includes illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer, hair designer Josh Marquette and makeup designer Milagros Medina-Cerdeira. The music team is headed by music supervisor and music director Michael Kosarin, who also created the vocal and incidental music arrangements, joined by orchestrator Danny Troob, dance music arranger Glen Kelly, associate director Ben Clare, dance supervisor Kyle Seeley, production supervisor Jason Trubitt and US general manager Myriah Bash with casting is by Jill Green.

The musical theatre performers in the UK and Ireland rival any on the planet and we look forward to presenting the best of them in this joyous new production.”
The West End production of Disney’s Aladdin opened to critical acclaim at the Prince Edward Theatre in June 2016. After breaking attendance records at its London home, the production took its final bow in the summer of 2019.
On Broadway, the musical continues its record-breaking run at the New Amsterdam Theatre where it debuted in 2014. The UK and Ireland tour will be the first tour outside of North America.
