Christina Modestou, Renée Lamb and Jade Kennedy will reprise their performances in Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World when the pop-powered musical which celebrates some of history’s most inspirational women follows its critically-acclaimed autumn 2021 debut by embarking on a UK tour in late March.
Modestou (Carousel, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, The Winter’s Tale, National Theatre; Six, Arts Theatre), Lamb (Ain’t Misbehavin’, Southwark Playhouse/Mercury Colchester; Little Shop of Horrors, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre; Six, Arts Theatre) and Kennedy (Les Misérables, Brighton Theatre Group Youth; Billy Elliot, Victoria Palace Theatre) will be joined by new cast members Kirstie Skivington (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Apollo Theatre/The Crucible Sheffield; Jesus Christ Superstar, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Kudzai Mangombe (Malindadzimu, Hampstead Theatre), Elise Zavou (Red Riding Hood, Theatre Royal Stratford East) and Clarice Julianda (Priscilla: Queen of the Desert UK tour) when the hit new show returns from 25 March 2022 with an opening run at The Playhouse in Liverpool until 3 April.
Produced by Kenny Wax Entertainment, the musical will then visit The Lowry in Salford; Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames; King’s Theatre in Edinburgh; Hall for Cornwall in Truro; Northcott, Exeter; Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham; Oxford Playhouse; Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield; Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre of the Arts, Poole; and Stratford East.
Written by dramatist Chris Bush, the stage adaptation of Kate Pankhurst’s award-winning picture book features music by chart-topping songwriter Miranda Cooper and hit songwriter Jennifer Decilveo with live arrangements by Jen Green.
The high-powered all-female creative team is completed by director Amy Hodge, choreographer Dannielle Lecointe, set and costume designer Joanna Scotcher, lighting designer Zoe Spurr and sound designer Carolyn Downing with casting by Rosie Pearson of Pearson Casting.
A descendant of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, Kate Pankhurst’s book offers a guide to some of the famous females who have helped shape the world. Historical figures featuring in the work include Jane Austen, Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo and Rosa Parks
