Paulus to take Victoria Wood show to Edinburgh

Cabaret star Paulus will mark 30 years in entertainment by taking his tribute to his idol, comedy legend Victoria Wood, to this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Initially a hour-long performance, curated for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2020, Looking For Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood will play the Assembly Rooms, Drawing Room from 3-28 August 2022.

Joined on stage by his friend and musical director Michael Roulston (Fascinating Aida, Julie, Madly, Deeply), Paulus will celebrate the genius of Victoria Wood by performing 12 of the star’s best-loved songs including ‘It Would Never Have Worked’, ‘Reincarnation’ and the classic ‘Ballad of Barry & Freda (Let’s Do It)’. Alongside the songs, Paulus will explore the musicality of the much-loved writer and performer’s work.

Produced by Cahoots Theatre Company’s Denise Silvey, Looking For Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood is directed by Paulus’ close friend, multi-award-winning cabaret star Sarah-Louise Young (An Evening Without Kate Bush, Julie, Madly, Deeply).
