Performance Preparation Academy latest show is Flashdance the Musical

CX9dlHkVAAArDd7The third-year musical theatre students from Surrey’s Performance Preparation Academy (PPA) will be appearing in Flashdance the Musical at Guildford’s Electric Theatre next month.

The production, which will be directed by Christopher Howell, with musical direction by Simon Lambert and choreography by Louise Pieri will play the Electric Theatre from  25-27 February.

Based on the popular 1983 Paramount Pictures film Flashdance, the musical received its UK world premiere in 2008 and had its first West End run in 2011.

With a book by Tom Hedley and Robert Carey, music by Robbie Roth, and lyrics by Carey and Roth, the show boasts a score that features the hits ‘Maniac’, ‘Gloria’ and the award-winning title track ‘Flashdance (What a Feeling)’.

PPA was created with the aim of delivering first class vocational training that would also provide academic qualifications in musical theatre, dance and drama. The academy is is managed solely under the proprietorship of Louise Pieri and her husband Costa Pieri who believe that theatre training should be challenging, aspiring, life affirming and ultimately a life changing experience. They recognise that in a dynamic and increasingly competitive business the demands on performers to achieve excellence grows every year.
