Frozen’s Samantha Barks will step in to take over the radio presenting duties from Elaine Paige while the veteran West End star takes a five-week break from her popular BBC Radio 2 Sunday show.
One of the West End’s new generation of musical theatre leading ladies and currently starring in the West End in Disney’s Frozen, Barks will be in the hot-seat usually occupied by one of the West End’s most enduringly popular leading ladies, from 1pm to 3pm every Sunday from 20 March until 17 April 2022.
Announcing her new radio role on Twitter, Barks, who has previously worked closely with Paige on ITV’s All Star Musicals, said: “I have some really exciting news!!! I am honoured to be stepping in for the wonderful Elaine Paige for five weeks on BBC Radio 2. I adore the show and am so excited to be a part of it!”
