Double Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos will receive its long-awaited European premiere at The Other Palace this summer.
Presented by Selladoor Worldwide, the musical which premiered on Broadway in 1992 will play the London venue for a limited season from 30 August until 23 November 2019.
Created by the award-winning team of James Lapine (co-writer with Stephen Sondheim of Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park With George) and composer William Finn (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), the ground-breaking musical won two Tonys for its debut Broadway run and was nominated for five Tony Awards for the 2016 Broadway revival production.
Announcing the project on behalf of Selladoor Worldwide, CEO David Hutchinson said: “This is a show we have wanted to bring to London since we embarked on our careers as producers. We’ve been exploring and planning this one for nearly a decade, and I am delighted that today we can tell the world that this beautiful, critically-acclaimed musical – is finally coming to the capital.”
Casting and creatives for Falsettos will be announced at a later date. Leading theatre company, Selladoor Worldwide also recently partnered with London’s Arcola Theatre to bring Lapine and Finn’s Little Miss Sunshine to the UK. The production is currently in the middle of a well-received season in London ahead of a UK tour this autumn.
