Following a critically acclaimed, award-winning run last year in the Studio, Daniel Evans’ production of Tim Firth’s musical This Is My Family returns to Sheffield Theatres from 9-18 October, ahead of a national tour to Royal & Derngate Northampton, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Liverpool Playhouse and the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.
Clare Burt (Yvonne), Bill Champion (Steve), Evelyn Hoskins (Nicky), Terence Keeley (Matt) and Rachel Lumberg (Sian) reprise their roles from the original run, and are joined by Marjorie Yates as May to complete the company.
‘This is my family’. That was the competition. All Nicky had to do was describe her family and she could win a dream holiday. Okay, so she lied through her teeth and made them all sound perfect, but who cares!? She won! She could take them to Rio! To Florida! Acapulco!
Instead, 13-year-old Nicky Perry chooses pretty much the last holiday her family were expecting…
