Six on Broadway opening night live recording to be released

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ hit British musical Six continues to make history with the release of the first original Broadway cast recording to be recorded live on opening night.

Produced by Paul Gatehouse, Marlow, Moss, Sam Featherstone and Tom Curran, the 18-track ‘Six: Live On Opening Night’ features the original Broadway cast of Adrianna Hicks, Andrea Macasaet, Abby Mueller, Brittney Mack, Samantha Pauly and Anna Uzele.

The album includes a bonus track by the Broadway alternates – Keirsten Nicole Hodgens, Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert, Courtney Mack and Mallory Maedke and the all-female band The Ladies in Waiting: Julia Schade (music director/keyboards), Michelle Osbourne (bass), Kimi Hayes (guitars), Elena Bonomo (drums), and Mariana Ramirez (percussion).

Six: Live On Opening Night’ will be released on 6 May 2022 in streaming and digital formats. A release date for the physical formats (CD and vinyl) will be announced soon.

The first new musical to open on Broadway following the pandemic, Six captured the imagination of New York’s fearsome opening night theatre critics when it debuted at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre last October. Tickets are currently on sale through to 4 September.

Directed by co-creators Moss and Armitage, the production’s creative team also includes choreographer Carrie-Anne Ingrouille and musical supervisor Joe Beighton, with set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, sound design by Paul Gatehouse and orchestrations by Tom Curran. Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting and Peter Van Dam with original casting (US) by Bob Mason.

Six on Broadway is produced by Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Kevin McCollum.

Written by university friends Marlow and Moss, the musical which puts the spotlight on the wives of Henry VIII as they form a 21st century girl band started life as a student production in a 100-seat room at Sweet Venue during the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
