West End star Sue Kelvin will take a trip through the glittering career of stage and screen superstar Bette Midler in Bette Midler and Me at The Garden Theatre at The Eagle next month.
Kelvin who cites Midler as the inspiration for her own successful career will perform some of Midler’s biggest hits along with sections of her most memorable comedy routines in the show which has been written by Chris Burgess (Sophie Tucker’s One Night Stand, Lunch With Marlene and Noel).
Presented by LAMBCO Productions, the show which is directed by Erika Gundesen will play the new outdoor venue in the beer garden of The Eagle in Kennington, London from 3 November until 8 November 2020.
Kelvin, whose roles include Madame Morrible in Wicked, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, and Mama Morton in Chicago, will take to the stage with support from actress and singer Jessie May (Hair, Mamma Mia!).
The musical arrangements for Bette Midler and Me are by Tony Award-winning musical director Sarah Travis with original choreography by Matthew Cole and original direction by Paul Foster. The show which also features a three-minute puppet version of Beaches, was previously seen in Edinburgh and on a UK tour.
