Olivier Award winners The Showstoppers will once again offer home-based theatre lovers the Christmas gift of a special festive flavoured live-stream improvised musical.
Falling half way through The Showstoppers’ West End residency at the Lyric Theatre, the improv-specialists’ final show of 2021 will be live-streamed at 7.30pm on 18 December 2021. The performance will be live-captioned.
Using state-of-the-art technology, The Showstopper! Christmas Livestream will give homebound audiences another chance to experience The Showstoppers’ distinctive style of madcap entertainment.
As with the live show, The Showstoppers will take suggestions from audience members and transform them into a unique new musical. The festive show which will run for one hour and 20 minutes will then be available to buy for seven days after the live event.
While tickets range from £10 up to £20 plus booking fees, audience members are being asked to consider paying closer to a normal theatre ticket priced if they are able.
Created by Dylan Emery and Adam Meggido, the Showstopper formula involves taking individual suggestions from each night’s audience and turning them into a brand new fully choreographed and scored musical.
Featuring a rotating company, the improvised musical theatre show was founded in London in 2008 and has proved to be a hit with audiences around the world. An Edinburgh Festival Fringe favourite for 12 years, The Showstoppers have featured in their own BBC Radio 4 series and played to packed houses in the West End.
