Tributes to Blood Brothers’ Graham Martin

Fellow actors and theatregoers have been paying tribute to Graham Martin following the announcement of the actor’s death by his agents Savages Management.

Announcing their loss on line, Savages Management posted: “Our beloved client Graham Martin has passed away. G was one of the nicest, kindest and most talented performers, much loved by all who knew him. We are devastated at the news and send love and condolences to his family. Rest in Peace G. It was a privilege. We will miss you.”

Known for his appearances in the West End in Starlight Express and on tour in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Tommy and most recently in Blood Brothers, the news of Graham Martin’s death has led to a large number of social media postings from friends and fans.

Posting a backstage video of the actor on Twitter, actress Gemma Broderick wrote: “A talented, funny, humble man. Every time I’m mid show & deciding what to have for ‘tea’ I’ll think of you. Stories of your quick wit and humour will live on forever in the #BloodBrothers wings…And yes G, you definitely can do robotics. Sleep tight Electra.”

Actor Richard Mylan posted: “This wonderful, kind, beautiful soul will be forever missed. I love you my dearest friend. You will always be golden. #gramartin.”

A posting on the Blood Brothers tour fan page @TourBlood read: “It is with deep pain and regret that I write this post to inform you all that the dear Graham Martin has passed away. Graham was an amazing man, so kind and caring and he will be missed dearly. I’ll post a proper tribute when the time is right. Rest in Paradise Graham.”

Posting a behind the scenes photograph of Graham Martin in costume, actor Jonny Vickers wrote: “Oh @gramartin, I wish I could jump into this photo & tell you how much you inspired me as a young actor. Your professionalism is something I aspire to & sharing nearly 100 dressing rooms with you is a privilege I will always cherish. I’ll have a nice tea tonight, just for you x”

BBC Radio presenter Louise Hannan posted: “You beautiful man @gramartin. One of the kindest, most talented and funniest people I have ever known. Heartbroken you’ve gone. I’ll miss you so much. RIP and sleep tight. x”
