Evening Standard Emerging Talent Award winner Tyrone Huntley will be one of several guest performers at international musical theatre star Willemijn Verkaik’s West End concert in July.

The Dreamgirls star who is soon to reprise his acclaimed performance as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar is one of a number of guest stars who will join Verkaik for the special one-night-only presentation.

Currently starring as Elphaba in the 10th anniversary cast of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria, the Netherlands-born singer and actress will be joined by an eight-piece live band for the concert at Covent Garden’s Cambridge Theatre on Monday 31 July.

Following on from her critically acclaimed solo concert at the Ambassadors Theatre in 2015, the actress and singer who provided the voice of Elsa in the German and Dutch version of Disney’s blockbuster movie Frozen will return to centrestage in a celebration of the songs that have defined her career to date.

The line-up of guest stars will include the previously announced Celinde Schoenmaker (The Phantom of the Opera), Verkaik’s current Wicked co-star Suzie Mathers (Glinda) and a former West End Elphaba, Savannah Stevenson.

After making her Broadway debut as Elphaba in 2013, Verkaik has played the role in four countries and is the only actress to have performed the role in three different languages.

Her credits include Disney’s musical Tarzan in Germany, and playing starring roles in hit shows including Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You and Aida.
