Actor, presenter and cabaret performer Tim McArthur will take his celebration of Stephen Sondheim’s leading ladies on the road for later this month.
The Sondheim aficionado, known for hosting the popular Sondheim Society’s monthly Cabaret Nights, will step into the spotlight once again with his Sondheim’s Divas show from 22 October until 28 November 2021.
Previously seen at the Arts Theatre in London, The Pride Arts Centre in Chicago and The Tada Theatre in New York, the show features show-stopping songs usually performed by Sondheim’s female characters.
With musical direction by Aaron Clingham, Tim McArthur sings Sondheim’s Divas will play The Two Brewers in Manchester (22 October), followed by The Latest Music Bar in Brighton (28 October), The Cabaret Lounge, Above The Stag Theatre, London (29 October), The Stables Theatre, Hastings (20 November) and The Prohibition Cabaret Bar in Newcastle (28 November).

Best known for presenting the Curtain Up weekly radio show on Resonance FM, McArthur has performed solo shows at venues on both sides of the Atlantic and directed a range of productions at home including the cabaret show Eurovision Your Decision and a production of Sondheim’s Into the Woods. A TV show featuring McArthur’s popular comedy character Sister Mary McArthur is currently in development.
McArthur’s other 2021 projects include Duncan and Tim’s Big Camp Show (UK tour with Duncan James) and, as an interviewer, An Evening with Christopher Biggins.
