Les Misérables-inspired male vocal group The Barricade Boys has revealed a star-studded list of guest stars lined up to join them during their festive three-week season at the Studio at The Other Palace next month.
School of Rock’s Gary Trainor will take to the stage with the group on the first night (5 December), with Oliver Savile (Wicked) following on 6 December and Michael Xavier (Sunset Boulevard) playing the press night show on 7 December.
The Phantom of the Opera’s Nadim Naaman will join the party on 8 December, Wicked’s Rachel Tucker will play the matinee performance on 9 December with Jersey Boys’ Simon Bailey playing the evening show.
The Rocky Horror Show’s Liam Tamne will step in for the 11 December performance with Jon Robyns (Avenue Q) in on 12 December, followed by Caroline Sheen (City of Angels) on 13 December.
Killian Donnelly (Kinky Boots) will play the matinee on 14 December with Sabrina Aloueche (We Will Rock You) playing the evening show. Emily Tierney (Wicked) will step in on 15 December with Shona White (Chess) playing the matinee on 16 December and Sophie-Louise Dann (The Girls) taking to the stage in the evening.
The final week will begin with David Shannon (The Phantom of the Opera) and Rob Houchen (Titanic) joining the 18 December line-up, followed by Luke Kempner (The Only Way is Downton) on 19 December. Laura Pitt-Pulford (Seven Brides For Seven Brothers) plays the matinee on 21 December, while David Thaxton (Jesus Christ Superstar) will play the evening performance. The final show on 22 December will feature Jacinta Whyte (Miss Saigon). The guest star for the 20 December show is to be announced.
Two lucky people will also get the chance to appear on stage with The Barricade Boys – all they have to do is tweet a YouTube video link of themselves singing a Christmas song to @BarricadeBoys. The winners will be chosen by Monday 11 December.
The brainchild of Scott Garnham and his business partner Simon Schofield, the group was first launched in 2015 with plans to feature male singers who all had one thing in common – they had appeared in productions of the record-breaking and award winning Les Misérables.
Running from 5-23 December, the line-up for The Other Palace shows consists of Garnham (Billy Elliot The Musical, UK tour, Grand Hotel, Southwark Playhouse); Schofield (Puttin’ On the Ritz, UK tour, The Sound of Music, London Palladium) along with Kieran Brown (The Phantom of the Opera, Her Majesty’s, Wicked, Apollo Victoria) and Craig Mather (The Wind in the Willows, London Palladium).
Produced by Sisco Entertainment Ltd, The Barricade Boys Christmas Cabaret will feature performances of Christmas classics including ‘White Christmas’, ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’. James Doughty will be the show’s musical supervisor with Noam Galperin as musical director.
