Dame Vera Lynn is uniting with a host of socially distanced West End stars for a special morale-boosting video aimed at the theatre industry.
The inspirational face and voice of the Second World War will work her magic once again by providing a personal message of love and best wishes for a unique video version of her iconic song, ‘We’ll Meet Again’.
West End favourites Sharon D Clarke, Louise Dearman, Kerry Ellis, Maria Friedman, Cassidy Janson, Hannah Waddingham, Michael Xavier and choreographer Bill Deamer are among those already involved in the cinematically designed music video with further musical theatre stars to be announced.
Other famous faces involved include Classical Brit Award-winning vocal group Blake (who previously performed ‘We’ll Meet Again’ with Dame Vera in concert), writer and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth and comedian Joe Pasquale. The stars are joined by a 15-strong choir provided by Capital Voices.
The driving forces behind the project are producer Anthony Cherry and musical theatre duo Ferris & Milnes. Cherry rallied his Friday Night Is Music Night team while Ferris & Milnes’ Dominic Ferris produces and Martin Milnes directs. The duo also makes an on-screen contribution to the film.
Paying tribute to those involved in the initiative, Cherry, Ferris and Milnes said: “Our special thanks is given to visual editor Tom Large for his cinematic contribution. Mostly, we extend our sincere gratitude to Dame Vera Lynn and her team for their blessing and kind support throughout this very special project.”
We’ll Meet Again the film is in production with a release date to be announced soon.
