The smash hit musical Wicked celebrated another milestone moment this week when the show played its 4,000th performance in London.
Currently the ninth longest-running show in the West End and the 19th longest-running show in West End theatre history, the multi-award winning tale of the witches of Oz has now been seen in London by more than seven million people and by 50 million people across the world.
Based on the bestseller by Gregory Maguire which took its inspiration from the creations of L. Frank Baum brought so vividly to life in the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, the production at the Apollo Victoria Theatre is taking bookings up to 29 April 2017.
The show’s cast includes: Emma Hatton, Savannah Stevenson, Oliver Savile, Liza Sadovy, Mark Curry, Sean Kearns, Daniel Hope, Katie Rowley Jones, Natalie Andreou and Carina Gillespie.
Wicked has music and lyrics by multi Grammy and Academy award winner Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Disney’s Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame) was adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman. Musical staging is by double Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello.
The show is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.
