The producers of the hit London production of Wicked have unveiled the 20th anniversary West End company due to begin performances at the Apollo Victoria on 19 May.
Current stars Emma Kingston (The Band’s Visit, Donmar Warehouse, Evita, international tour) as Elphaba and Olivier Award nominee Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins, Prince Edward Theatre, Strictly Ballroom, Piccadilly Theatre) as Glinda will continue to lead the company as the production reaches another milestone.
They will be joined by US star Jordan Litz who will make his West debut as Fiyero – the actor previously performed the role on both the national US tour and on Broadway. Litz joined the company of the New York production in its 20th anniversary year in 2003 and has completed more than 1,700 performances in the role — making him the longest-running Fiyero in the production’s history.
Olivier Award nominee Claire Machin (The Girls, Les Misérables) will join the cast to play Madame Morrible while Yara Fabricante will make her West End debut as Nessarose.
Continuing members of the principal company will include: Michael Matus (Singin’ in the Rain, The Baker’s Wife) as The Wizard, David McKechnie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) as Doctor Dillamond and Ross Carpenter (The Book of Mormon) as Boq. Laura Emmitt (Frozen The Musical) returned to Wicked London last year as Alternate Elphaba after covering the role previously in the West End alongside Lydia Gerrard (The Phantom of the Opera, UK and Ireland tour), who joined the London cast as standby for Glinda after previously covering the role on the 2023/2025 tour.
The company is completed by Leo Abad, Iroy Abesamis, Elizabeth Armstrong, Steph Asamoah, Meg Astin, Rebecca Bowden, Shaun Chambers, Erin Gisele Chapman, Lauren Chia, Charles Croysdill, Oraine Frater, Emily Goodenough, Katy Hanna, Nat Ingham, Samuel John-Humphreys, Holly Lawrence, Jemima Loddy, Ellie Ann Lowe, Jamel Matthias, Marcus May, Conor O’Hara, Tom Oliver, Abbie Quinnen, Harry Robinson, Jeanie Ryan, Jessica Saisang-Rowe, Jonah Sercombe, Chris Tarsey, Hannah Taylor and Karen Wilkinson.
The current 2025/26 company’s final performance will take place on 17 May.
Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel which was written while the American author was living in London in 1990 and takes its inspiration from the creations of L Frank Baum, brought so vividly to life in the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, Wicked has music and lyrics by multi-Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Disney’s Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
Adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman (cult TV series My So-Called Life), the show features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento and the production is directed by double Tony Award winner Joe Mantello. Music arrangements are by Tony Award winners Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton) and Stephen Oremus (Disney’s Frozen).
The multi-award-winning tale of the Witches of Oz has won over 100 major international awards including three Tonys, two Oliviers and ten WhatsOnStage awards.
