Melissa Errico will lead the cast in the London workshop of new musical The Gold Room
Broadway leading lady Melissa Errico will head the cast involved in the development of The Gold Room, a major new musical from the creative team of Michael Feinstein and Warner Brown.
Based on stage and screen writer Brown’s original idea, the show explores a night behind closed doors in the life of the troubled Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton.
The London workshop this month follows on from a similar event in New York. The show features original music by Michael Feinstein and a book and lyrics by Brown.
Director Jeremy Sams will take charge of the workshop which will feature Errico (My Fair Lady, Camelot) alongside Jamie Muscato (Dogfight, Bend It Like Beckham).
Brown and Feinstein have also been commissioned to write the stage musical of the hit movie The Thomas Crown Affair.
The Gold Room workshop is an industry-only event and is not open to the public.
