Full casting has been revealed for the musical version of Lewis Carroll’s classic nonsense poem The Hunting of the Snark which will make its West End debut this summer.
Gemma Colclough will direct Will Bryant (Incident at Vichy, Finborough Theatre), Ben Galpin (Potted Sherlock, Vaudeville Theatre), Jordan Leigh-Harris (The Hunting of the Snark, Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Simon Turner (Blood Brothers, Phoenix Theatre) and Polly Smith (Table Manners, UK tour) in the family-friendly show that uses actors, a life-like puppet and music to bring the creator of Alice in Wonderland’s imaginative work to life.
Following on from its world premiere at Cardiff’s Sherman Theatre last year and a successful run at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, the family musical adventure will begin previewing at the Vaudeville Theatre on 26 July ahead of a press night on 28 July.
After completing its West End run on 2 September, the show will embark on a national tour from 25 September until 19 November, taking in dates in Guildford and ending in Salford.
From the lead producer of hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, RGM Productions, and inspired by Carroll’s much-loved work, the show is written by Annabel Wogoder, with music and lyrics by Gareth Cooper.
Produced in association with Alice House Theatre and originally co-produced by the Sherman Theatre, The Hunting of the Snark features musical direction by Gareth Cooper and design by Justin Nardella.
