West End actor and Olivier Award-nominated David Burt will re-create his critically-acclaimed performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in Antic Disposition’s popular musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ timeless A Christmas Carol this festive period.
Returning to the spectacular setting of London’s Middle Temple Hall, the production will feature Burt (Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar) in the central role for the third year.
Also returning to the cast are: David Anthony, Charlotte Armer, Chris Courtenay, Elliot Fitzpatrick, Katie Lovell, Dean Riley and Katherine Robb. The cast also includes Scott Brooks, Mabel Clements, Kate Hume, Timothy Mylechreest and María Rodríguez Reina, who will be joining the production for the first time. Young actors Harvey Loakes (The Wind in the Willows ) and Charlie McLellan (Kinky Boots) will share the role of Tiny Tim.
First performed in Middle Temple Hall in 2012, Antic Disposition’s family-friendly version of the much-loved story tale of Scrooge and his ghostly visitors is one of the capital’s favourite festive treats.
Newly revised and expanded for the 2017 season and featuring an accomplished group of actor-musicians, the production combines the story of Scrooge’s eventful night of ghostly encounters with original songs inspired by the carols of a traditional Victorian Christmas.
Running from 22 until 30 December, the production has been adapted for the stage by Antic Disposition’s artistic directors and founders, Ben Horslen and John Risebero. They are joined this year by composer and musical director Nick Barstow, who recently toured the UK as musical director of Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland, and was a judge on Gareth Malone’s The Choir for the BBC.
