A major new production of the musical based on Cliff Richard’s much-loved movie Summer Holiday will take to the road across the UK next year.
Directed and choreographed by Racky Plews, Summer Holiday will make its first stop at the Liverpool Empire on 8 May 2018 ahead of a UK tour that will continue through 2018 and into 2019.
Based on the 1960s film that famously took Cliff and The Shadows on a lighthearted tour across Europe aboard a red London double decker bus, the movie has been adapted for the stage by Michael Gyngell and Mark Haddigan.
Featuring hit songs including ‘In the Country’, ‘Bachelor Boy’, ‘Move It’, ‘Living Doll’, ‘The Young Ones’ and the title song, the production will be executive produced by David King and features orchestrations by Keith Strachan. Casting will be announced at a later date.
After playing the Liverpool Empire until 12 May the tour is due to visit Milton Keynes, Woking, York, Bromley, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Plymouth, Brighton, Blackpool, Leeds, Southend, Dartford, Chester, Wimbledon, Darlington, Stoke, Aylesbury, and Glasgow.
Further dates for 2018 and 2019 dates will be announced soon.
