Special performances to mark the 60th anniversary of the London opening of West Side Story and the 50th anniversary of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will feature in the star-studded ceremony for the 2018 Olivier Awards on 8 April 2018.
Musical theatre legend Chita Rivera will celebrate her London debut as Anita in the classic Romeo and Juliet-inspired West Side Story in 1958 to perform the moving ballad ‘Somewhere’ alongside last year’s Olivier winners Andy Karl and Adam J. Bernard and the Arts Educational Schools London Choir.
Jason Donovan, Linzi Hateley, Lee Mead, Preeya Kalidas, Joe McElderry and Danielle Hope will be among the former Joseph stars taking to the stage at this year’s glittering ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall to honour Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s much loved musical.
Also performing on the night will be the cast of Hamilton (opening the show), John McCrea and the cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Sheila Atim and the cast of Girl From the North Country, Lesley Joseph and the cast of Young Frankenstein, Tracie Bennett from Follies and the cast of 42nd Street.

The star-studded line-up for this year’s show which will be hosted by Catherine Tate was revealed along with further details of the broadcast and ceremony plans for the prestigious event.
ITV will broadcast The Biggest Night In British Theatre: The Olivier Awards from 22.30 on Sunday 8 April. The show will also be broadcast live outside of the UK on the Olivier Awards Facebook page and in China via iQiyi on Tuesday 10 April.
As previously announced, the awards will continue its partnership with Magic Radio with a broadcast of the entire show on 8 April, hosted by Alice Arnold and Olivier Award winner Ruthie Henshall, with build-up on air from 18:00. Sirius XM will broadcast the show via radio in the US.
The popular Red Carpet Live show will return from 16.00 until 17.30 with a special interval Backstage show at 19.00, both shown exclusively on the Olivier Awards’ Facebook page.
