Stage stars Oliver Savile, Christina Bennington, Koko Basigara, Charlotte Wakefield and Nadim Naaman will take to the stage this Sunday (16 September) in The New Musical Theatre Showcase.
The fourth concert in the popular Crazy Coqs Presents series of shows puts the spotlight on new music from composers including Anderson and Petty, Kansley and Lidert, Kate Marlais and Alex Young, Webborn and Finn and Oliver Boito.
Launched earlier this year at London entertainment hub Live At Zédel, the themed shows are co-produced and hosted by lyricist Mark Petty (the UK half of transatlantic songwriting partnership Anderson and Petty) who also created the series with James Albrecht and Andy Hornby.
With musical direction by William Sharma, the series began in June with Classic Songs from the Musicals featuring songs from shows including The Wizard of Oz, Evita, South Pacific and West Side Story. The second instalment, The Pride At The Musicals, celebrated this year’s London Pride with songs from hit shows including La Cage Aux Folles, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Rent, Dear Evan Hansen, and Rent while the third show, The Disney Show featured songs from the much-loved films and stage musicals.
Suzie Mathers, Michael Vinsen, Sophie Isaacs, and Gemma Sutton are among the stars lined up to appear in the fifth show, The Greatest Movie Songs of the 80s, on 21 October featuring music from hit films including Flashdance, Dirty Dancing and Mannequin.
Following a break in November, Petty will return for his own tribute night to the work of Pasek and Paul on 30 December.
