High street-inspired Timpson The Musical is heading for London

Edinburgh Festival hit Timpson The Musical will debut in London at the King’s Head Theatre in early 2019.

Presented by innovative company Gigglemug Theatre, the show which was named by The Guardian as one of the newspaper’s ‘Best Shows to see at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018’ will play the Islington venue from 18 February until 8 March 2019.

With a book and lyrics by Sam Cochrane and Chris Baker, and music by Theo Caplan and Tom Slade, Gigglemug’s first musical is described as answering the burning question of how shoe repairs and key cutting came together under the same roof in the high street store Timpson.

Set in Victorian London, the offbeat musical comedy tells the story of star-crossed lovers, Monty Montashoe and Keeleigh Keypulet, two young inventors intent on breaking free from their warring families.

Writers Cochran and Chris Baker direct and lead a creative team that includes: designer Doug Cairns, lighting designer Danny Vavrecka and arranger Ben Richardson.
