Three of the stars of hit musical Bat Out of Hell will be among the first artists to appear at new London cabaret venue The Space @ Studio 88 this month.
As previously announced, the show’s original Falco and Sloane, Rob Fowler (We Will Rock You) and Sharon Sexton (Billy Elliot), will showcase tracks from Vision of You, their album of music celebrating their characters’ turbulent romantic relationship at the new venue within Studio 88 in Whitcomb Street on 25 January 2019.
The actors who met on the first day of rehearsals for Jim Steinman’s crowd-pleasing stage show will follow fellow Bat Out of Hell alumnus Giovanni Spano who will play the venue on 10 January.
Spano, who originated the role of Ledoux in the popular show and was most recently seen competing on ITV’s The X Factor, will perform songs that hold a special meaning for him. The show, One Night With…Giovanni Spano will also offer his audience the chance to quiz the singer about his life and career.
Also making an appearance as part of The Space’s opening season will be Steph Parry, the actress who hit the headlines this year when she raced to the rescue when the leading lady in the nearby production of Mamma Mia! suffered an on-stage injury.
Steph Parry – The Girl Who Ran Down The Road on Friday 18 January will feature the actress whose theatrical fairytale was completed when the former understudy stepped into a leading role in the hit re-working of classic backstage musical comedy 42nd Street, in a solo show of music and self-penned comedy.
Other shows with a musical theatre flavour lined up for the venue include: Lisa-Marie Holmes’ celebration of the music of the legendary Barbra Streisand (Saturday 12 January and Sunday 13 at 7pm).
After a decade travelling the world, performing in concerts, cabarets and musicals including Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Rent, Holmes will return in a tribute to the artist she played in the UK Tour of You Don’t Bring Me Flowers. The shows will feature Holmes, her four-piece band and special guests.
The venue will also host a new monthly Musical Theatre Quiz Night (Wednesdays 30 January, 27 February and 27 March at 7.30pm).
