West End star Kieran Brown will take to the stage alongside a host of fellow Scots at London’s Above The Arts next week on 24 January 2019 to celebrate Burns Night.
Following a successful launch at the Arts Theatre in 2017, and a Burns Night special last year at The Other Palace Theatre, the third Scots In The City show, will feature Brown (The Phantom of the Opera, Titanic) and special guests in a celebration of all things Caledonian.
With co-creator Shona White in Hong Kong starring in Mamma Mia!, Brown will be joined by Wicked and Mary Poppins star Jacqueline Hughes, Matthew Mckenna (We Will Rock You, Titanic), Emma Ralston (The Frogs, Bananaman) and Natalie Williams (Oliver, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Further guest stars will be confirmed at a later date.
Announcing the show which will support UK Borderline and Scotscare, an umbrella charity set up to assist vulnerable and homeless young Scots in the capital, the Scots In The City team said: “We are delighted to have yet another opportunity to share an evening of song celebrating our mutual love of Scotland with a London audience at Above The Arts, particularly on Burns Night. We are both fiercely proud of our deep Scottish roots, and also proud to be Londoners, so this is a unique opportunity to combine both as well as share some of the iconic poems and songs penned by one of Scotland’s most prolific sons.
“We are planning a few surprises along the way, and alongside our musicians and very special guests, we hope the audience will leave with smiles on their faces and an understanding of the unique rich musical landscape of our bonnie bonnie homeland!”
